Details/Common Questions

Connect with others who "get it" and find a safe space to process your grief through the lens of the hope we have in Jesus.

Grief Support Groups meet weekly and feature facilitators who have experienced loss.  A separate small group will be available to parents who have experienced the loss of a child.   Small groups allow participants to explore their grief and God's promises regarding comfort, healing, hope and eternity.

Frequently asked questions:

Do I need to be a member of a particular church to participate? No. Everyone is welcome.

Do I need to have a personal relationship with Jesus before participating in a group?  No. Jesus is the foundation of what we do, but we welcome all levels of faith.

Can I jump in at any time? Up through the third week, yes. After week three we close the groups to foster a sense of trust and vulnerability among the group members and their leaders.

What if I am going to miss several of the sessions? It is recommended that you be here and present for as many weeks as possible. If you already know of multiple conflicts, we would suggest waiting until the next semester to join us.

What if I lost someone close to me years ago? If you need grief support following the death of a loved you are welcome, no matter when the loss occurred.

Is there a fee? No.

Will there be a specific Child Loss Group?  Yes.  We know child loss is a unique loss that is best walked through with other parents who have lost a child.

Are college students welcome?  Yes

First Touch also offers an online parent group.  You can find out more information at https://www.firsttouchfamily.org/after-the-casseroles-go-cold
